Privacy Policy
This website processes personal data of its visitors in order to offer the most comprehensive service possible; some of the processing is carried out by external service providers (hosting). Below I explain which data is collected and how it is handled. If you have any further questions, please contact the controller named below.
1. Name and contact details of the controller
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other provisions of data protection law is:
Rechtsanwalt Andreas Meyer
Holstenbrücke 2
24103 Kiel, Germany
Telephone: +49 431 25939452
Mobile: +49 171 4075758
Email: kanzlei@meyer-legal.info
Internet: www.meyer-legal.info
2. Data protection officer
No data protection officer has been appointed, as there is no legal obligation to do so (Article 37 GDPR, Section 38 of the German Federal Data Protection Act). Any data subject can contact the controller named above directly at any time with questions and suggestions concerning data protection.
3. Collection and storage of personal data and the nature and purpose of its use
a) When visiting the website
When you access my website, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to the server of my website. This information is temporarily stored in a log file. The following information is collected without any action on your part and stored until it is automatically deleted:
- the IP address of the requesting computer,
- the date and time of access,
- the name and URL of the file retrieved,
- the website from which access was made (referrer URL),
- the browser used and, where applicable, your computer's operating system and the name of your access provider.
This data is processed for the following purposes: to ensure a smooth connection to the website, to ensure convenient use of my website, to evaluate system security and stability, and for further administrative purposes.
The legal basis for the data processing is Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (f) GDPR. Under no circumstances do I use the collected data to draw conclusions about you personally.
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany; processing takes place on servers located in Germany. A data processing agreement (Article 28 GDPR) is in place with IONOS. Server log files are deleted or anonymized as soon as they are no longer required for the purposes for which they were collected, at the latest upon expiry of the host's rotation period.
b) When using my contact form
For questions of any kind, you can contact me using the form provided on this website. Providing a name and a valid email address is required so that I know who the inquiry comes from and can answer it. Further information can be provided voluntarily.
The data processing for the purpose of contacting me is based on Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling your inquiry) or on Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (b) GDPR insofar as the contact is aimed at concluding a mandate. Your details are sent to me by email; they are not otherwise stored on the web server (no logs, no database). I delete the data as soon as your inquiry has been conclusively dealt with and no statutory retention obligations prevent deletion. If a mandate is established, the data becomes part of the case file and is retained for six years after the end of the mandate in accordance with Section 50(1) of the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO).
c) Contact via WhatsApp
You can also reach me via the WhatsApp messenger (provider: WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland). Message content is end-to-end encrypted; however, WhatsApp receives metadata (including your phone number and usage times) and may transfer it to other Meta companies, including in the USA (certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is Article 6(1) point (b) GDPR (initiation or performance of a mandate) or Article 6(1) point (f) GDPR (ease of contact). Use is voluntary — if you wish to avoid the transfer of metadata to WhatsApp, please use the phone, email or the contact form. Details: WhatsApp Privacy Policy.
4. Disclosure of data
Your personal data is not transferred to third parties for purposes other than those listed below. I only pass on your personal data to third parties if you have given your express consent in accordance with Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (a) GDPR, if the disclosure is necessary under Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (f) GDPR for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims, or if a legal obligation exists for the disclosure under Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (c) GDPR.
5. Cookies and consent management
My website uses cookies and comparable technologies (e.g. the browser's localStorage). I distinguish between strictly necessary and optional cookies.
Strictly necessary storage: I store your cookie consent in your browser's localStorage under the key cookieConsent. This is required to remember your decision across pages and does not require separate consent (Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (f) GDPR). The stored data remains exclusively on your device and is not transmitted to me.
Optional cookies (only with consent): Only if you choose "Accept all" in my cookie banner are third-party analytics and advertising services (Google Analytics, Google Ads) activated. Without your consent, these services are not loaded. The legal basis is Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (a) GDPR.
Withdrawing consent: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer and choosing "Necessary only". Processing that has already taken place remains unaffected.
Further information on browser settings for cookies can be found in your browser's help.
6. Analytics and advertising services (Google)
This website uses — provided you have given your consent — services of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google").
Google Analytics 4: a web analytics service used to evaluate website usage (measurement ID: G-H0BGZGS4V6). Pseudonymized usage data is collected (including page views, time on page, and referral source). IP addresses are anonymized through IP masking. Any transfer to the USA is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses (Article 46(2)(c) GDPR). You can prevent data collection via the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Google Ads / conversion tracking: I use Google Ads to promote my services, and conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of my advertisements. If you reach my website via a Google ad and then carry out a predefined action (e.g. making contact), a cookie is set. The information generated is transmitted to Google. No personal identification is intended.
Google Consent Mode v2: I use Google Consent Mode. Without your consent, all consent signals are set to "denied"; Google then does not receive any personal data for analytics or advertising purposes. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Your rights as a data subject
You have the right of access (Article 15 GDPR), the right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR), the right to erasure (Article 17 GDPR), the right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR), the right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR), the right to withdraw consent you have given (Article 7(3) GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR).
8. Right to object
Insofar as your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests under Article 6(1) sentence 1 point (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in accordance with Article 21 GDPR. If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal or objection, an email to kanzlei@meyer-legal.info is sufficient.
9. Data security
When you visit this website, I use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption at the highest level supported by your browser. I also use suitable technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against manipulation, loss or unauthorized access by third parties.
10. Online appointment booking (Cal.com) and map link
Online appointment booking: For scheduling appointments I offer online booking via the service Cal.com (accessed through the domain cal.eu). As soon as the page loads, a preparatory connection ("preconnect") to Cal.com is established, in the course of which your IP address is transmitted. When you click "Book an appointment", the Cal.com booking interface is loaded in an embedded window (iframe); any data you enter there (e.g. name, email address, preferred date) is processed by Cal.com. The legal basis is Article 6(1) point (b) GDPR (steps taken prior to entering into a contract) and my legitimate interest in efficient scheduling (Article 6(1) point (f) GDPR). For details, please see Cal.com's privacy policy at cal.com/privacy.
Map link: No Google map is embedded on my website. I merely provide a link to Google Maps so that you can find my location. Only when you actively click this link are you redirected to Google, and data (in particular your IP address) is transmitted to Google in accordance with Google's privacy policy. Merely accessing my pages does not transmit any data to Google.
11. Validity and amendment of this privacy policy
This privacy policy is current as of July 2026. I reserve the right to amend it as necessary so that it always meets the current legal requirements.
